Who We Are
UMZ Consulting (Pty) Ltd is a 100% black-owned, multidisciplinary civil engineering consultancy providing innovative engineering, infrastructure planning, and project management solutions across Southern Africa. Established in 2018 in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, the company was formerly known as Umzuzo Infrastructure and has since evolved into a trusted engineering partner for both public and private sector clients.

Bridge Infrastructure
We offer extensive experience in the planning, design, assessment, rehabilitation and management of bridge infrastructure across South Africa — reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, steel, composite and pedestrian bridge structures, together with major culverts and retaining structures. Our bridge specialists are accredited COTO Bridge Inspectors, undertaking routine, principal and special inspections, structural condition assessments, rehabilitation strategies and bridge asset management in accordance with the TMH19 Manual.
Water, Sanitation and Transportation
Our professionals have delivered complex water, sanitation and transportation projects for national, provincial, municipal and private sector clients: bulk water supply systems, water treatment works, pump stations, reservoirs, rising mains and gravity pipelines, wastewater collection and treatment, stormwater systems and municipal services. Our roads and transportation specialists deliver national and provincial roads, municipal streets, rural access roads, interchanges, pavement rehabilitation, traffic engineering and road safety improvements.
